Mondays in Parramatta just got a whole lot better. The Parramatta City Council, in partnership with Responsible Cafes, is offering free coffee to customers for three consecutive Mondays.
The catch? Well, there’s no catch. You’ve just gotta bring your own reusable cup to score your free cup of joe—but you’ve been doing that already, right?
Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you’re already well-versed on the deleterious impact of takeaway coffee cups and lids on the environment. They use up heaps of resources to produce, and then they’re dumped in landfill after a single use. And no, they’re not recyclable. What’s worse, we throw out three billion of these suckers every year.
So, the legends over at Parramatta Council is keen for you to BYO cup—be that a reusable cup, or even your humble office mug—to one of five cafes in the Parramatta CBD. The baristas at Valentine Ave Cafe, Bourke Street Bakery Parramatta, Red Mango, Eastern Concourse Bakery Cafe, or Esquire, and they’ll reward you with your favourite brew. Coffee tastes so much better when it’s cof-free—geddit?
