This is not a drill. Frozen push pops have landed on our Sydney shores and we are low-key (not really) freaking out.
We know we don’t have to say any more, because the kidult inside you is already on the brink of a nostalgic food frenz, especially because they’re coming in all manner of glorious flavours like tropical cheesecake, lychee and rosewater, strawberry, chocolate, and passionfruit and vanilla. FYI the Glace dessert legend, Christy Tania, is behind these bad boys. Fighting an urge to move to Melbourne right now...
But brace yourselves, coz there’s a whole lot more you need to know.
Basically, there’s a 15-hour long pop-up event (in other words chuck on those stretchy pants, stat) celebrating all that our sister city of Melbourne town has to offer. Think all the live music, food, drinks and art ever.
The music line-up is almost too much for us to handle with the likes of Remi, Saskwatch, Midnight Juggernauts and absolute swag gods—The Delta Riggs all making an appearance. Plus, comedy legend Joel Creasey will be MC-ing the entire night so expect laughs, laughs and more laughs (you know, to work off all the nosh you’ll be consuming).
Speaking of, the food front is just a smorgasbord of insane deliciousness. You’ll get to try everything from Adam D’Sylva’s Tonka and Coda restaurants, Huxtaburger, Fancy Hanks and Glacé. Which means a whole night of said sweet frozen push pops, massive burger stacks, Southern fried chicken, brisket sambos, cookie sandwiches and of course, Melbourne-quality barista coffee from the famous St Ali.
