For years, The Grounds of Alexandria have set the bar waaayyyy high on all things coffee, cute and pet pigs. ICYMI they've headed into the CBD, so treat time can happen all week long, rather than just the weekends.
Until now, it’s all been very cloak and dagger, with the only hint being a Grounds labelled construction site at The Galeries in Sydney.
Which is why we nearly fell over ourselves with excitement when we heard it is now open! Everyone knows a great flat white is not a joking matter, and neither are housemade crumpets and cakes (yes, this is real life). Speaking of a great flat white, they'll also have a coffee sommelier (how do we get that job?) to tailor your caffeinated experience.
They'll be plating up everything from breakfast right through to dinner, yeah we thought the same, we might just move right on in. Our top picks for lunch and dinner are the steak tartare, which is sprinkled with seeds, horseradish, bitter leaves, served with fresh toast, and because we can't get enough of their coffee, we also ordered the Affogato. This bad boy is made with house-made tiramisu ice-cream, with a milk chocolate crust served with an espresso, and is finished with pops of natural popping candy.
The Grounds Of The City is open from dusk 'til dawn 7 glorious days a week.
They're also heading over The Bridge, in case you weren't already excited enough.
