If there’s one thing we need right about now, it’s a wine festival. I mean, how great would it be if Sydneysiders were treated to a month long ode to the wine and produce from one of the country’s top wine spots? The good news is, it’s actually happening. Enter: Taste Orange Festival.
The good folk at Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel have taken one for the team and for the third year are bringing Taste Orange Festival to the sunny shores of Robertson Park for us wine loving folk (um, everyone?) to enjoy.
As if you needed another reason to soak up the atmosphere at Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel, they’ve added weekly wine master classes on the 10th, 18th and 26th of May, a dedicated Orange wine list and a big ol’ day long smorgasbord of the Orange region’s best wines and foods into the mix.
The vino festivities kick off with a series of wine master classes in Beach Club. Whether you’re trawling the bottle-o trying to do some ROI equations on the standard drinks to cost per bottle or you’re a seasoned wine aficionado, the hotel’s resident sommelier can teach you a thing or two. Plus, the finest wines from the Orange region will be waiting for your sipping pleasure. Snap your tickets up here.
Things reach a very exciting head when the Taste Orange Food & Wine Festival rolls into town on the 22nd of May from 11am. There will be a variety of wine and produce from one of Australia’s most prominent cool climate wine regions – Orange. There’s a whole host of wineries from the region showcasing their world-class drops, perfectly matched to crowd faves from Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel’s delectable menu. Plus, there will be live music and entertainment for all ages to enjoy!
Pre-purchase a tasting ticket here to score 10 x wine tasting tokens (wiiiiiiiine!) and a handy dandy tasting glass to accessorise your journey through the region’s various wines without leaving Sydney, and that epic view.
Rowlee Wines, Phillip Shaw Wines, Ross Hill Wines, Tamburlaine Organic Wines, Angullong Wines, Simon Gilbert, Logan Wines, Slow Wine Co, Patina Wines, Highland Heritage Estate, Heifer Station and Cargo Road Wines will be bringing the taste of Orange with them to the big smoke for your wine tasting pleasure.
Bonus tip? Stay the night at the Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel and score yourself a welcome bottle of wine from the region and a day free of negotiating who’s going to be the designated driver. Winning!
