LBH, no event in Sydney is worth going unless there is some kind of light show involved. From Vivid to NYE, we know how to do the whole light up the sky thing, and we know how to do it well. So come Lunar New Year, we really expect nothing less.
To keep us happy, City of Sydney is painting the town red so we can celebrate the Year of the Rooster in true Sydney style. The Opera House, Harbour Bridge and even good old Town Hall will be lit up with the colour of happiness, good fortune and joy (aka red), to ward off evil spirits (because ain’t nobody got time for that).
There will be celebrations all over the city, with a ‘Wall of Fortune’ at Circular Quay, displaying hundreds of LNY messages every minute on a ginormous screen, a Lunar Lantern Hub at Martin Place (with Messina, Bao Stop and Taylor’s to fill any grumbling bellies) and even Massaoke on February 3rd (think an enormous mass-karaoke sing-along).
Where: Various locations around Sydney
When: From January 27th
