If you live anywhere near Potts Point, then you may have noticed that a brand new eatery, Fountain Eatery & Bar, has popped up in your hood—it’s pretty obvious, given the mammoth line of hungry people weaving down the street every weekend.
The menu ticks all of the brunch boxes, with a Philly steak sandwich served with spicy chilli fries, pappardelle with a slow cooked lamb shoulder and mushroom ragu, and also a wild mushroom risotto.
If you head here earlier in the day, then you’ll be in for a few classics—think avocado smash on organic toasted rye, piled high with creamy goat’s cheese, a fresh sprinkling of pea shoots and mint, crunchy almonds and a soft poached egg. That really should be enough said, but we’ll go on (we just can’t help ourselves). If you’re in the mood to treat yourself, go for the Fountain duck fat hash (as good as it sounds), which is topped with bacon, avocado, tomato salsa, cheddar and a soft poached egg, or the crème brulée French toast.
The doors at Fountain fly open at 7am every day of the week, and if you want to beat the queue, then we suggest that you get in early.
