Sydney Has A New French Bakery

A spot for freshly baked dreams has just opened in Sydney—introducing Lavie & Belle. Setting up shop in nothing less than an old convenience store in Surry Hills, this 100% French bakery is (you guessed it) all sorts of delicousness.

Bread is baked fresh on the daily here, meaning this is where you’ll find that perfect baguette you’ve been searching for. The flour (from France) is fermented for up to 48 hours, before joining the butter, that’s (you guessed it), also from France. Their baguettes also come with walnuts and fruits, so you know they’re just screaming to be paired with a big, fat slab of creamy brie.

Prepare your grumbling belly for tarts, flans, éclairs (keep talking) and not surprisingly, croissants. There are also classic sandwiches on offer, including everyone’s favourite, the croquet monsieur, and a damn good quiche Lorraine.

Think of your visit to Lavie & Belle like a trip to France, just minus the air ticket but with all of the required carbloading.
