Sydney just scored a brand new hidden bar and yes, you should be excited. Word on the street is you’ll need to make your way down a flight of stairs, a long AF corridor, make a right turn and knock three times on a brass pineapple to get into this joint. But trust us, the sketchy orienteering is all worth it—we know you love the novelty anyway. Especially if you have a knack for tippling yourself up with sherry, fortified and natural wine. And you do.
Say hello to Door Knock, the newest subterranean bar boasting cabin-like feels and a menu to boot. You can expect stripped back walls dotted with rustic pineapples and prints, and an overall feel akin to straight out hanging at home with a bunch of your mates.
The draaaannks menu houses nine epic concoctions including Door Knock’s take on the classic sherry cobbler made with a house sherry blend, suze, nectarine and watercress. And if you’ve brought along your rat pack then you should definitely be jumping on the Finogroni cocktail jug which is a tasty combination of fino (surprise), Campari, Sweet Vermouth and coconut. The island vibes are strong with this one, guys.
But don’t worry, the food-front is just as strong with some mega delish salmon and eggplant dishes you’re meant to share but probably won’t (they’re that good). We can safely consider this weekend sorted, no?
You'll find Door Knock at B2/70 Pitt Street Sydney and they're open Monday to Saturday, 4pm till late.
