Where To Find Sydney’s Best Sangria

By Holly Kingston - 23 Oct 2018

You’re heading out for a tipple session with the squad when all of a sudden that dreaded question comes to the forefront of your mind, cocktail or vino? Fear not young booze lover, there is always the almighty combo of the two that we know fondly as the sangria.

The ultra-delicious Spanish punch has been muddling its way into glasses and pitchers all over Sydney and we’re here to tell you where you can get your mouths on the best of these fruity bevs.

These guys sure pack a punch, here are the best sangrias in Sydney.

Thievery

Glebe

Because sangria out of a teapot. The crew at this iconic Middle-Eastern Glebe joint is serving up one fiery pot of the good stuff. You’ll be in for a spiced Hennessy sangria concoction at Thievery and we’re not going to lie, it’s pretty damn moreish.

The Goni’s Schnitzeleria

Marrickville

Don’t be fooled by the name, these guys are churning out way more than some seriously mammoth schnittys. Goni’s is also the home of one kick of a sangria which is exactly what you’ll need to wash down the two-kilo breaded monster coated in cheese and bacon.

Firefly

Neutral Bay

Sydney’s only bottomless sangria feast is at Firefly and it pretty much has your summer weekend sorted. Yep, bottomless smashed watermelon rosé sangria for two glorious hours. Need we say more?

Gazebo

Elizabeth Bay

The vino bianco and vanilla sangria at Gazebo is heavenly, think Absolut vanilla vodka, fresh tangy apples and no shortage of ultra-tasty white vino. Make it a jug, because, well, why not?

The Botanist

Kirribilli

This cosy, charming gem on Sydney’s North Shore is serving up rosé sangria for you and the squad complete with all things pink. We’re talking strawberry, rhubarb bitters, Chambord and rosè. Yes way rosé.

The Bucket List

Bondi Beach

Sip on sangria over a yarn with pals and seagulls down at Bondi Beach. Is there a better way to enjoy God’s tipple? Grab yourself the Bucket List signature sangria pitcher, watch the waves roll in and thank us later.

East Village

Darlinghurst

This stunning rooftop bar has a solid view and their sangria is mighty fine too. With Beefeater gin, house citrus oleo (fancy talk for homemade delicious citrus oil), Shiraz and heaps of fresh fruit, because, well, you’ve got to get those daily vitamins in.

Barrio Cellar

Sydney CBD

The Barrio Cellar sangria glass isn’t for the faint-hearted, it’s packed with an array of tipples and it’s seriously delicious. Think Herradura Plata tequila, Cointreau, Shiraz, hints of zesty lemon and lots of spicy cloves. You can make this baby a pitcher which has a whopping eight shots.

Splash Tapas

Cronulla

Hit up Splash Tapas for one helluva sangria hit. This one has a red jug filled with red wine, spiced rum, orange juice, lemonade and all the seasonal fruit. If you’re keen for something lighter, the white sangria with white wine, Cointreau, apple liqueur, lemonade and seasonal fruit is your best bet.
