Just give us all of the steak and no one gets hurt. We’re talking the juicy steaks, the tender cuts, those flavoursome hunks of meat; the smoky creations, and those fresh off the grill vibes. If you love steak as much as we do (and that’s a lot) a major cheat sheet to the best steak nights in Sydney would come in handy on the regular— that’s where we come in.
Read on steak lovers, here are all of the best steak nights in Sydney (complete with tasty slaw, mash, veggies) in one handy list.
The Union Hotel
Rule number one to curing Mondayitis— get some red meat into you (you’re probs low on iron from brunching and boozing all weekend which is totally understandable). The Union Hotel is kicking off every week with a 250g rump with frites and your choice of sauce. Cooked to perfection, every damn time.
The Royal Oak Hotel
Let’s be honest. Your mid-week blues really start on Tuesday. As for the ultimate mid-week pick-me-up? Well, that would be the Royal Oak Hotel’s Tuesday night steak special. Can we get those words tattooed somewhere? The words are like music to our ears. And the best part is, the steak cooked up here is seriously the holy grail of steaks. Yep, we went there.
The Royal Leichhardt
There’s not much The Royal doesn’t do well. In fact, the entire food menu is the mecca of ultimate pub eats (pub eats done well, realllyyy well). We’re talking a slab of juicy steak, chips, salad and a drink to wash it all down. Every Monday. And Tuesday. Which means double the steak for us.
Rump Day Wednesday is much better than hump day. Obviously. So dig your forks into a tender Angus rump steak served with whatever sides your heart desires. Also, it’s only 15 bucks, so you really have no excuse.
The Glenmore is already delivering on the rooftop bar and cocktail front. But these guys have also nailed all day (seriously, all day) steaks and chips on Monday. Saving us from Monday-blues, one steak at a time.
Dove And Olive
Dove and Olive have your steak cravings sorted for Thursday nights. Cue 200g of grain fed Black Angus rump (and yep, it’s as good as it sounds), chips, your choice of salad, and your choice of red wine gravy, peppercorn or mushroom sauce. Is anyone else drooling as much as us right now?
This is the place for casual pub grub, which means their steaks are seriously good too. Mondays at The Forresters call for a meat mosh like no other. We’re talking rump steaks, mega t-bones and steaks all for the price of a coffee (yeah, not even joking on that one).
North Bondi RSL
Salt, sand, surf and steak sounds like our kind of combo. Every Wednesday, North Bondi RSL is serving up steaks (of the juicy kind and frankly our favourite) just for $10. Tuck into a slab of Angus with mash, chips, salad or veggies.
You’ll want to hit up The London on Thursday nights from some serious steak fare cooked exactly the way you like it. And massive hint, you’ll want to order more than one (yep, it’s that good).
If you like your classics done well, we hear you. The Cricketers Arms are plating up upmarket pub grub staples and if you’re a steak enthusiast, you’ll want to pay attention.
Monday nights at The Arms mean super tasty steaks with red wine jus or mushroom sauce and just a warning, you’ll probably become a regular.
Bat & Ball
Shoot the breeze, unwind and enjoy a quality red meat feast at local institution, Bat and Ball. To be fair, all the pub specials here are actually life-changing but we’ll leave you to pursue these eats another time (do yourself a favour and try their stand out BBQ platter… just wow). For now, all you need to know is that on Wednesday, they’re serving up steak the way it should be. Marbled, tender and juicy, serious #steakgasm.
