If you haven’t been to mod-Indian restaurant INDU yet then you need re-evaluate your life choices stat. And before you start with your “I’m not really that into Indian food” nonsense you need to know that INDU ain’t your standard Indian. This is modern Indian deliciousness served in the form of incred dosa, phenomenal lamb raan and rad spice crusted barramundi. You won’t find any stodgy butter chicken here, only the finest and freshest ingredients cooked to absolute perfection.
And to top it off, eating at INDU will make you feel all sorts of warm and fuzzy because they are all about giving back through their Village to Village Program! They’ve partnered with Palmera to help build infrastructure for local enterprises in small villages in places like Sri Lanka.

The Great Lamb Raan
No surprise that the great lamb raan has topped this list. It’s INDU’s signature dish and it is out of control! Marinated and slow roasted for 48 hours, this might be the softest lamb shoulder we’ve ever eaten. It comes with some of the tastiest fresh mint chutney and lunumiris (that’s chilli sambal FYI) and let’s just say that if you walk out of INDU without trying this you can’t be our friend.
The 5 Spice Crusted Barramundi
Yeah okay, we raved about that lamb raan being the best damn thing in the world, but when we start thinking about the juicy, crunchy, spicy barra, well we might just have to call it a tie. This is basically the juiciest softest piece of fish you’re going to eat all year, with a super generous crusting of seeds and spices to give it the perfect crunch. It comes served with string hoppers and a delisiciously creamy, but still light, turmeric and coconut molee that will make you want to lick the plate clean.
The Goat’s Leg Dosa
Oh what’s that, you don’t even know what a dosa is? It’s a crepe made with fermented rice and lentils and then topped with all of the tasty things. So now you know what it is, listen carefully. The dosa bar needs to be your first stop at INDU and you’ve gotta try the smoked goat’s leg. It comes with zucchini ribbon raita, pomegranate, chilli and bacon jam. Yup, you heard right, chilli and bacon jam #drool!
The Sesame Rolled Beetroot Croquettes
Whether you’re vego or not you are going to want to get your hands on the sesame rolled beetroot croquettes. These are basically sesame crusted balls of deliciousness. So. Much. Flavour! Served with deep fried ginger and an awesome garlic raita, I reckon everyone at the table could have eaten three serves of these. Each.
The Pan Seared Scallops With Tempered Curd
There is nothing not to love about this dish. If you feel weird about tempered curd, don’t. It’s packed full of flavour and while you might not expect curd to go with scallops, by god it works! These scallops are bite sized pieces of heaven and the curd and smoked coconut are just the cherry on top.
The Pan Flashed Clams And Mussels
Quality ingredients are the main stay of every single dish at INDU and it sure does show in this soupy little concoction. Perfectly pan flashed clams and mussels in a fragrant Kerala coconut broth that is so tasty we’d happily drink an entire bowl of it on its own. The fried brown rice string hoppers make the dish look like a little piece of art and they add just the right amount of crunch to this killer dish.
