It’s no secret that truffles are one of our favourite things. One taste turns us into the kind of foodie tragics who say things like “truffle is more of a feeling than a flavour”. Now, if for some reason you just don’t get our love affair with truffles (we can’t be friends), it’s definitely time to get some truffle deliciousness into you, STAT!
This winter some of Sydney’s best restaurants are serving nothing but the good stuff (that’s a lie—they’ll be serving other things, but we only have eyes for the truff).
Balla is taking your belly to its happy place with a four-course truffle degustation, complete with homemade organic durum wheat tagliatelle finished with black truffle, butter and Reggiano, along with sweet raviolo filled with ricotta, orange peel and truffle honey. BLACK Bar & Grill will wow your taste buds with dishes like grass-fed Angus fillet with Yorkshire pudding, Foie gras, smoked potato, shaved truffle, and Jerusalem artichoke crème brulee with truffle ice cream.
Our mates over at Sokyo are embracing truffles Japanese style, plating up a divine uni, with crispy nori and truffle, along with asparagus and wild Japanese mushroom toban with (you guessed it) shaved truffle.
Or you can just keep it classy at Pizzaperta with a truffle-topped wood-fire pizza. We won’t judge you if you just make your way through allllll of the truffle dishes, remember you have two whole months.
