We’re huge fans of anywhere that allows our inner child to spring free. So when we heard that a brand new (and totally luxe) bowling alley had opened up in Sydney, we were keen to take it for a spin. This is the kind of place where you try your luck at arcade games, with a cheeky cocktail in hand and before you feast on deliciously naughty food.

We narrowed it down to the top seven reasons to hit up Kingpin North Strathfield, you now, the next time you and your crew want to run amuck like the big kid you are (like this weekend).

There’s More Than Just Bowling Lanes

In addition to 19 state of the art bowling lanes (yep, that’s a thing), The Hub at North Strathfield also has a fully licensed sports bar, an arcade with over 100 games and soon there’ll even be an escape room. So even if you’re terrible at bowling (which is actually half the fun), you can still wipe the floor with your mates in the arcade.

There’s A Laser Tag Arena

Enough said.

It’s In A Killer Location

This one is IMPORTANT. For all those times when you want to act like a big kid, drink like an adult, and find our way home without spending a week’s worth of groceries on an Uber. Kingpin is minutes from North Strathfield station, which has trains into and out of the city so regularly, you probably won’t even have to look at a timetable.

Food Is Served From A Stretch VW Combi

If there’s one thing that’ll bring on those childhood vibes, it’s food served from a stretch VW Combi—there’s just something about them, amirite? We’re talking about a Mexican share plate, where you can build your own tacos, salted caramel Belgian waffles, and spicy Kentucky wings. Because how could you embrace your inner child without a ridiculously fun food menu? You couldn’t, that’s how.

The Drinks Menu Is LIT

Like a child’s birthday cake covered in candles, the cocktail list at Kingpin is lit. There’s the passion fruit and lime margarita, or the Duchess (for starters), and we’ve got our beady little eyes on the Pimm’s jug, because we refuse to accept that summer has abandoned us.

The Fit Out Is Luxe AF

Admittedly without all of the actual candy, the fit out at Kingpin is Luxe AF. There are giant cable spools suspended from the ceiling, comfy booth seating, and even a selfie throne so you can nail your Insta story.

There’s A Private Bowling Event Space

If you want to be a big kid in private—along with all of your friends—then you’ll be pleased to know that Kingpin has an event space with three private bowling lanes and a karaoke room. Everyone knows that the best nights end with a trip to a karaoke joint (guilty) and these guys are cutting out the middleman with Room 300. So you and your mates never have to leave the privacy of your room once the night escalates to karaoke levels.
