The Verdict

Stop everything—Belles Hot Chicken is opening their third Sydney location at the new Darling Square food precinct and of course this is big news. There’ll be more chicken, more hot sauce, and God dammit, is that weekend bottomless brunches we see?

Belles is bringing their fried poultry good-times to Darling Square (you might know this one as Steam Mill Lane), a new food precinct at the venue of the now-demolished Sydney Entertainment Centre. The new shopfront will be the first location pouring its Little Darling wines, a collab with UNKEL Wines (Yarra Valley) and Côtier Wines (Mornington Peninsula). We reckon these wines—one red, the other a skin-contact white—will make for some breezy quaffing alongside Belle’s already-awesome wine list.

And best of all, to toast the new opening, all Belles outlets will be serving bottomless brunches, every weekend, from 11.30am. Thass right—you get their famous chicken ‘n’ waffles and endless Bloody Marys for a glorious two hours and it’ll only set you back a measly $50 per person.

And these aren’t any ordinary Bloody Marys. They’ve worked closely with Sydney’s Westmont Pickles to create the perfect cocktail base of pickle brine, fresh tomato juice, and a sprinkle of cayenne. For those not up on BMs, you can opt for Belles’ cocktail options, including the easy-drinking Arnaldo—half lemonade, half sweet tea, and tequila. So, it’s time to swap that pineapple bill for a sweet chicken ‘n’ cocktail meal deal.
