Whether you're a Perth local in desperate need of a staycation or you're an out of towner looking for a Perth hotel that's a bit special, you'll want to book yourself a few nights at one of these stunning boutique hotels in Perth.
They've got all the little luxuries you'd expect from any good hotel, a bucket load of charm and most of them are in primo locations so you can head out on the town, experience the best of Perth and then stumble back to your room at the end of the night (if you manage to leave the hotel at all).
So without further ado, here are the best boutique hotels in Perth.
Set in the old limestone cottages right next to Fremantle Markets, the Warders Hotel only just opened but is already receiving a tonne of booking requests. The original building was built in 1851 and used as accommodation for the Warders from the nearby Fremantle Prison. After a careful restoration of this historic landmark, we’re glad to see the Warders Hotel has done a great job of preserving its unique charm while also serving up a minimalistic and modern interior worth staying inside for. Each room is fit with a comfy king bed, and along with your booking you’ll receive a light complimentary breakfast with coffee and an evening cocktail. What’s not to love?
Samphire is Rottnest’s newest, and most luxurious hotel on the island. Located in the heart of Thompson Bay, right along the beach, the hotel gives off the kind of luxe holiday vibes usually reserved for an international beach trip. With stunning outdoor dining spaces and lagoon style pools to dip into, you’ll find plenty of spots to just chill out with a cocktail and relax in this island oasis.
With sweeping views of the Swan River and Perth City, The Ritz-Carlton in Elizabeth Quay is the place to be when booking a five-star inner-city stay in Perth. Aside from the elegant and spacious rooms (complete with all the five-start extras you’d expect), there’s a jaw-dropping outdoor heated infinity pool, a rooftop bar, the sensational Hearth restaurant, and of course a boujee day spa so you can get your pamper on. When staying at the Ritz-Carlton you’re guaranteed a luxurious experience with the friendly team making sure you’re spoilt.
COMO The Treasury
This contemporary luxury hotel will make you never want to return home. Not only does COMO The Treasury feature a spa, gym, pool, library and the most elegant rooms you’ll ever lay eyes on; it's also home to some amazing dining options. Rooftop restaurant Wildflower serves up contemporary cuisine with beaut local produce; Post offers elegant dining with modern Italian cuisine; Petition is more about relaxed dining and delicious modern Australian eats, while the Wine Merchant is the perfect spot to kick back with a wine in the Postal Hall. So many activities, and we haven't even mentioned Pooles Temple, the underground jazz bar. This might be one of the most romantic hotels in Perth, so if you've got an anniversary coming up, you know what to do.
Quay Perth wowed us from day one with the view from its Esplanade Studio rooms. Packing 80 rooms into a small footprint, the hotel is part of the Louis T Collection and features earthy tones, Victorian ash wood, clean lines and plush soft furnishings, all inspired by WA’s natural landscape. Home to Community at Quay, a sidewalk eatery, as well as the rooftop HQ Bar & Kitchen, there aren’t many reasons to leave Quay, unless you feel like stretching your legs along the banks of the Swan. Our favourite room features, aside from the view? The bathtubs and bay window seats. If you need a space to break out and do some work, the 24/7 co-working space on level 9 offers 180-degree views over Elizabeth Quay, private offices, meeting rooms, communal workstations and delicious coffee at your fingertips.
Old school Fremantle hotel the Tradewinds has undergone some massive refurbishments and the end result is, quite simply, stunning. Splash out and get yourself a suite with river views for the weekend and make the most of the standalone bathtub and the bar cart. That's right, some of the more luxe rooms come with a bar cart and all the goodies you'll need to make espresso martinis, negronis and more. The king-size bed is one of the most comfortable you'll ever come across, and the pool and deck areas are lush (if you can bring yourself to leave the room).
Sitting in the cultural heart of Perth, Alex Hotel is the perfect Perth hotel for those who like to eat, drink and be merry. The rooms are like little sanctuaries, but if you like a more social experience, you can kick back in the shared communal spaces. The Alex has lounge areas, outdoor terraces and a roof garden for you to enjoy, where they offer wine, craft beer, artisan spirits, books and locally roasted coffee. There’s bike hire if you feel like going for a ride, and Shadow Wine Bar is just downstairs for cocktail hour. You don’t get much better than that.
Located right next to Kings Park and only a hop, skip and a jump away from some of the best restaurants in Perth's CBD, you'll be wishing you lived at Tribe. The rooms are simple but stunning, the communal space is homely (but much nicer than your actual home) and if you don't want to go out to eat, there's a restaurant and bar there.
Pencil in Hougoumont if you’re keen for a weekend of dining, drinking and relaxing in Fremantle. This boutique hotel is nestled right in the heart of our fave port city and is a stone’s throw from the cappuccino strip, markets, and Freo’s best restaurants and bars. With luxury rooms and super-friendly staff, this is the perfect spot for a cultural vaycay to soak up everything Freo has to offer.
The beautiful new Sage Hotel is the newest addition to West Perth’s hotel scene and boasts views over the city and Kings Park. Jarrah floorboards and cosy fireplaces will make you feel warm and welcome, as will the authentic Italian being served downstairs at Julio’s restaurant.
Smack bang in the middle of the CBD, the QT is one of Perth's crown jewels complete with a killer rooftop bar and the incredible Santini Grill down below. The rooms are decked out in local jarrah timber flooring, which makes for a nice change from the usual hotel room carpet flooring, as well as velvet and polished brass accents. Black cockatoo wallpaper adds the perfect amount of character. Definitely one to save for the special occasions.
The Local Hotel
The Local is one of our fave places to eat and drink, but you might not have known you can actually stay in one of their eight boutique hotel rooms. Individually styled by local talents, each one is as beautiful as the next. Leave your car at home and don't leave South Freo all weekend.
