'Tis the season to go Christmas shopping. But mainly, 'tis the season to stuff your face. So what better way to do both than hit up all the Christmas markets Melbourne has to offer in December?

From boho luxe trinkets to jazzy delights to even one aimed at our canine companions, here are all the Christmas-themed markets you need to stroll through this December.

Boho Luxe Christmas Markets

Melbourne's most talented jewellers, fashion designers, illustrators, artists and makers will be there to provide you with artsy gift ideas, but let’s be real: this market is also great for maybe picking up a little something for yourself (after you’ve gotten your Christmas list all sorted, of course).

Where: Federation Square, Corner Flinders and Swanston St
When: Sunday 9 December 2018,
10am5pm

The Fitzroy Mills Market And Fitzroy Market

The Fitzroy Market and The Fitzroy Mills Christmas Market have joined forces in what’s surely the most anticipated Christmas market collab of the year. Start your day with an Industry Beans coffee and then hit up the stalls that will be offering artisan gifts, fresh produce, delicious food, vintage goods, flowers, art, pre-loved treasures, coffee, craft beer, live music and more.

Where: 75 Rose Street, Fitzroy
When: Saturday 8 December 2018 to Saturday 22 December 2018,
9am2pm

Arts Centre Melbourne Saturday Christmas Market

With no two stalls the same, the Arts Centre Melbourne Saturday Christmas Market is back in full force. Yes, there’s also a Sunday Market, but the Saturday market only goes until December 8. So if you want to get in on those arty gifts, better make it quick.

Where: Arts Centre Melbourne, 100 St Kilda Road
When: Saturday 8 December,
10am4pm

Japanese Festive Market

For those who are already sick of all the similar-looking Christmas markets this year: we hear you. Luckily, The Japanese Festive Market stall returns to Kimono House this year, so you can browse through Japanese gifts and festive trims that aren’t just covered in tacky repeating patterns of candy canes. It’s a great place to find stuff that’ll finally stump that friend or relative for whom you dread buying Christmas gifts.

Where: Kimono House, 37 Swanston Street, Level 3
When: Saturday 8 December
to Saturday 22 December 2018, hours may vary

Eltham Twilight Christmas Market

Back in time for the holiday season, the vibrant Eltham Twilight Christmas Market Late offers late-night trading from a variety of shops, market stalls, live music, and free activities.

Where: Eltham Town Square
When: Thursday 13 December 2018,
4pm9pm

French Christmas Market

L’Alliance Francaise is putting on their yearly French Christmas Market, so get ready for some yummy goodies. Train your nose at a perfume masterclass or your tongue at a French trial class, or if you’re anything like us, spend the weekend scarfing down delicious bread, chocolate, and wine.

Where: Alliance Française de Melbourne, 51 Grey Street, St Kilda
When: Saturday 15 December and Sunday 16 December 2018,
10am—5pm

Canine Christmas Market

That’s right—a Christmas market for dogs. The Big Day Out For Dogs is Dogs Victoria's annual festive community event and open day. The event showcases a wide variety of breeds, clubs and dog activities to the public, and offers you the opportunity to spoil your canine buds at the Canine Christmas Market.

Where: KCC Park, Skye
When: Sunday 9 December 2018, 10:30am—4pm

A Merry Market Christmas

Queen Victoria Market is pulling up their Christmas themed stockings this year as they deck the Queen Vic’s Halls with Christmas spirit and a whole lot of potential Christmas gifts. There are also some sustainable workshops going down on the 9th December, including a bee’s wax-wrap demo and a workshop on how to make your own preserves.

Where: Queen Victoria Market, Cnr Elizabeth and Victoria Streets, Melbourne
When: Tuesday—Sunday all through December, hours may vary

Market Place At Collins Place

This Christmas, Collins Place will be home to an exclusive and carefully curated event showcasing the best of Melbourne’s finest designers, creators and food makers. Creators Assembly has partnered with Collins Place to present a boutique market experience, including a pop-up bar where you can enjoy a glass of bubbles as you peruse the Market Place.

Where: Collins Place, 45 Collins Street, Melbourne
When: Friday 14 December, 10am—6pm

Ascot Lot Twilight Christmas Market

The Ascot Lot is lightening your Christmas load this year. Yes, not only do the Twilight Christmas markets house gift potential in their market stalls, but they’re providing the fuel too, with Christmas cocktails and their ever-rotating food trucks to keep you sustained during this busy lead up. The best part: for a gold coin you can bring your gifts from home and have them wrapped for you with the Twilight Market’s gold coin gift wrapping. (Heaven for those of us who haven’t mastered that perfect Christmas gift wrapping.)

Where: The Ascot Lot, 448—46 Mount Alexander Road, Ascot Vale
When: Tuesday 18 December, 5pm—10pm

Christmas Jazz At South Melbourne Market

South Melbourne Markets are getting jazzy with it this Christmas. With jazz musicians roaming the strips of this iconic market, your Christmas shopping experience can now be accompanied by live festive jazz tunes. There’s nothing quite like some holiday music to keep you going during that last-minute Christmas shopping flurry.

Heathmont Christmas Bush Market

A Christmas Market experience like no other, the Heathmont Christmas Bush Market is back again for another year of Christmas shopping under the gum trees. With artisan jewellery, skincare, candles, ceramics, baked goods and much more, this is the perfect destination for one-of-a-kind gifts.

Chai Walli Christmas Market

If you’re a fan of the humble chai, then this is definitely the Christmas market for you. A whole Christmas market for masala chai is coming your way, and it’s set to be spicy.
