Gelato Franco is the brainchild of Franco Riservato, the genius who made gelato at Leichhardt's Bar Italia for two decades… so he knows what’s up in the gelato world. This old school gelateria on Marrickville Road sells a tiramisu gelato that is an absolute life-changer (seriously). Tinged with coffee and topped with big hunks of chocolate sponge soaked in Sicilian Marsala wine (and then more coffee!), this is just a small scoop of the rich, smooth and creamy gelato on offer. The best bit? Franco makes each new flavour from scratch. Oh, and the serving sizes are something to be admired.
