If you want to sip on some of the best coffee in Melbourne, Allpress Roastery Cafe is the place to be. Kiwi outfit, Allpress, used to run their wholesale business out of a pokey office in Richmond, but they relocated to a huge warehouse space in Collingwood late 2013. Vast, shiny roasters pump out their top-notch beans, with a slick and spacious cafe – all polished concrete and woven fabric seats – overlooking the guys hard at work through glass walls, so you can enjoy the benefits while they do the heavy lifting.

The food offering is fresh and simple, like a breakfast platter with a boiled egg, avocado, tomato and provolone, with the focus firmly on espresso. Young and funky floor staff are on their game, and there's a great green patch up front for chilling out in the summer sun.
