The Verdict

In some sad news, Takapuna's House of Chocolate Dessert Cafe has just announced it will be closing its doors for good on Sunday May 14. After nine years, the team will be focusing on nurturing their House Of Chocolate product range and so will be shuttering their busy Takapuna store permanently. We're sad to see them go!

As the name suggests, Takapuna’s House of Chocolate Dessert Cafe is a very VERY good time. Here you’ll find what could quite possibly be the most extensive dessert menu in town. They’ve got all the chocolate classics: mousse, cake, brownie, fondue and—our fave—their famous hot chocolate pudding with a perfectly gooey centre. If chocolate’s not your thing (weirdo), they’ve got options such as a banana split, apple pudding and a whooole lot of waffles. The café also stocks artisan Kiwi-made choccies perfect for gifting to your nearest and dearest.
