The Bathhouse Spa Queenstown
If you thought Queenstown was only about adrenaline hits and après, it’s time to slow things right down.
As of 24 December, New Zealand’s adventure capital has officially welcomed a seriously luxe new wellness destination, with The Bathhouse Spa Queenstown now open and ready for soaking.
Created by Cordelia, the Australian-founded group behind the much-loved The Bathhouse Albion, The Bathhouse Spa Queenstown marks the brand’s first international outpost. Just steps from Skyline Queenstown and local favourite Bespoke Kitchen, it’s perfectly positioned for post-gondola recovery and ski-day wind-downs.
Inside, the experience is all about moving at your own pace. Guests are invited to create their own rhythm of heat, cold and rest, beginning in the 38° heated pool before cycling through an ambient pool and invigorating 12° cold plunge. From there, you’ll find a Finnish sauna complete with a fireplace, a scented steam room infused with the brand’s signature aromatic blend, plus two infrared saunas designed to encourage deep relaxation and muscle recovery.
One of the defining features is the phone-free policy. From the moment you step inside, devices are tucked away, allowing you to fully surrender to the ritual without screens; just meditative soundscapes, calming scents and the gentle drift of steam.
After your circuit, you’ll wind down in the tea and relaxation lounges, cradling a TeaGood blend as the sensory experience gently tapers off. Premium touches are everywhere, from Sans[ceuticals] hand, skin and haircare to Dyson hair tools, unlimited cotton towels and thoughtfully designed change amenities.
With the scientifically backed benefits of hot-cold therapy—think improved circulation, reduced inflammation and muscle recovery—the experience feels tailor-made for Queenstown’s active crowd. But it’s just as appealing for travellers seeking stillness, clarity and a refined wellness escape amid the alpine buzz.
Casual sessions are priced at $99 for 60 minutes or $119 for 90 minutes, with a range of gift vouchers available for solo and couples experiences. Consider this your new favourite way to recover, reset and reconnect in Queenstown—no ski pass required.
