Bali’s bakery scene has quietly evolved into something serious and delicious with tiny artisan shops and sleek patisseries are popping up across the island, each turning simple dough into something memorable.

Wheatfields Bread Lab

Wheatfields Bread Lab is Bali’s go-to for proper fermented sourdough and pastries, now served from a neat kiosk window in Umalas. All things bread, no distractions: just crusty loaves and impeccably baked goods done right. Daily rotations include rosemary, lemon & sea salt sourdough, Danish rye and sugary cinnamon morning buns. As part of sharing bread with the community, Wheatfields also offers hands-on,  intimate 3-hour sourdough workshops that strip back the mystery and simplify the process for aspiring bakers.

BRAUD

Founded in 2014, BRAUD has built a loyal following for its sourdough, buttery pastries and seasonal bakes, earning a reputation as one of Bali’s most forward-thinking bakeries. Locals and visitors flock to the snug corner spot, not just for pastries but for a generous breakfast and lunch menu—think Gruyère omelette, fried chicken sandwich and a classic chicken-and-vegetable pie with gravy. Its collaboration series regularly brings international chefs and bakers to the island, blending culinary creativity with a strong sense of community.

7AM BAKERS CLUB

A local and tourist favourite, 7AM Bakers Club has become the go‑to for seriously good bread and coffee- and it’s easy to see why. The all‑day menu is the perfect balance of comforting and clever: avo toast topped with bright garnishes, silky eggs en cocotte and a show‑stopping chicken cordon bleu. Pastries and long‑fermented loaves sell out fast; the coffee is sourced locally from island favourite Expat. Roasters, and the playful merch (branded tees and enamel pins) only adds to the charm. With outposts across Ubud, Canggu, Pererenan, Umalas and Uluwatu, 7AM Bakers Club is both a weekday pit stop and a weekend brunch destination.

Kanvaz Patisserie by Vincent Nigita

Kanvaz Patisserie by Vincent Nigita has become a must-visit on Bali’s pastry map, where every detail is considered by Chef Vincent Nigita’s bold creativity. The bakery meets boutique doubles as a high‑tea destination, each bite reflecting his flair for inventive flavour combinations and immaculate presentation.

Located in the heart of Seminyak at the entry of Kanvaz Hotel, the space itself has a Parisian atelier with a modern twist and monochrome-blue palette. Chef Vincent masterfully fuses classic French pastry techniques with Indonesia’s bold, vibrant flavours.

Copenhagen Bakery

Cøpenhagen started when Danish couple Nadia and Jeppe traded home for a dream — opening a cosy café in Canggu in 2018 that celebrates Nordic flavours with island spirit. What began as a small neighbourhood spot for artisan pastries, fresh Nordic‑inspired food and great coffee quickly became a community hub; baking moved to Pererenan in 2020 and grew into cøpenhagen BAKERY. Today they run two cafés (Canggu and Berawa) and three bakeries across Bali, serving flaky Danish pastries, long‑fermented sourdough and a warm Scandinavian welcome.

Walking through the bustling streets of Seminyak- Bread Yard is a delightful find. Step inside and you’re greeted by a warm, lived‑in space of timber accents and laid‑back charm that invites you to linger. Everything here revolves around really good bread: soulful sourdough and sandwich fillings that respect the loaf. Breakfast and brunch boast generous egg dishes and a rotating selection of pastries. t’s the kind of neighbourhood spot that turns into a favourite fast. 

Fold

Fold’s exterior of bright green tiles gives way to cozy upstairs seating and a laptop‑friendly layout that nails a polished Canggu aesthetic. Inside, the cafe/bakery charms with a quietly refined Euro‑style vibe — sunlit wooden tables, a relaxed playlist and, of course, pastries that steal the show: flaky croissants, precise tarts, baguettes filled to the rim and a simple, well executed all day menu. Fold now has locations in Ubud and Sanur.

Gigi Susu

The cafe/bakery everyone is lining up to get their selfie for insta is just  a short stroll from Batu Balong beach and has been a crowd favourite since it opened its doors in 2020, Gigi Susu is a cozy, eco‑minded cafe with freshly baked pastries, well‑crafted coffee and simple, locally sourced plates served in a warm, laid‑back space.Friendly service and a relaxed vibe make it a reliable spot for both locals and visitors.
