Uluwatu isn't just about world-class waves and jaw-dropping cliffs anymore; it's fast becoming one of Bali's most exciting dining destinations, and the reservations are here to prove it. From clifftop cantinas serving up sunset margaritas to hidden French bistros tucked down secret lanes, the best restaurants in Uluwatu are dishing up serious competition for your bucket list.

Whether you're chasing a romantic dinner with insane ocean views, a post-surf feast, or a late-night dance-floor-meets-dinner-table situation, Uluwatu's restaurant scene has levelled up in a big way. We've done the hard yards (read: eaten a lot of tacos) to round up the spots worth booking—like, right now—before your table disappears into the sunset with everyone else's.

Motel Mexicola

Jl. Pantai Bingin No.8, Pecatu

Motel Mexicola

What started as one of Seminyak's most iconic party restaurants has grown into a Bali institution, with Motel Mexicola now bringing its signature fiesta energy to three of the island's hottest neighbourhoods. Expect the same maximalist Mexican aesthetic at each outpost: rainbow-bright tiles, vintage decor, disco balls and a soundtrack that ramps up from relaxed dinner vibes to full-blown dance floor territory. The menu is built for sharing, with tacos, ceviche, grilled meats and plenty of margaritas, palomas and tequila-based cocktails making the rounds.

Each location has its own personality. Seminyak remains the original late-night favourite, Canggu attracts the surf-and-social crowd, while Uluwatu brings the party to Bali's cliffside playground. The common denominator is atmosphere: tables fill quickly, cocktails arrive fast and it's very easy for "just dinner" to turn into a much longer night.

INSIDER INTEL
  • Book ahead for peak evenings, especially in Seminyak and Uluwatu, where sunset drinks often roll seamlessly into dancing after dark.
