Gold Coast arts and culture enthusiasts have been hanging out for the much-anticipated return of BLEACH* Festival, and after a one-year hiatus, BLEACH* will soon transform the city’s landscapes through unique celebrations of live music, performance and art installations.
One of Australia’s fastest growing and most dynamic festivals, BLEACH* Festival 2022 will run from Thursday 11 August to Sunday 21 August and will traverse the Gold Coast, from the iconic Burleigh Heads beachfront all the way to the lush Gold Coast hinterland. With 233 artists, 94 performances and 36 arts and cultural events popping up across the Coast over the 11-day festival—including various international and Australian premieres, the majority of which are free—this year's BLEACH* is set to go down in the history books.
Headed up by Placemakers*, BLEACH* continues to push boundaries, delivering a cutting-edge program of contemporary art, music and theatre that challenges perceptions and embeds art into our everyday, all framed by the magnificent Gold Coast coastline. The festival will showcase the Gold Coast’s world-famous natural landscapes and key activation hubs include North Burleigh, the Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens, Miami, Burleigh Brewing, HOTA, Miami Marketta and Mudgeeraba.
Over 11 electrifying days, you’ll be hard-pressed to pack in all the incredible events you want to see, but we suggest you peruse the mind-bogglingly packed schedule and start creating your must-do list. Some key BLEACH* Festival highlights include: the magnificent opening event First Light at North Burleigh Beach; Kate Miller-Heidke performing under the sunset sky at the Botanic Gardens; Feast At Bleach* which will showcase three courses of incredible native produce, and the hauntingly immersive The Nightline audio theatre performance.
