Thanks to our collective best friend, Covid, having a travel and live music-shaped hole in our hearts is pretty standard at this point. We dream of real escapism—on an island enjoying a cocktail perhaps—that extends beyond whatever we’re watching on Netflix.

Well, for anyone severely missing their annual Sail Croatia trip, don't fret because the new music festival Dream Machine is hitting the Whitsundays for an immersive five-day retreat. It sounds like a genuine pocket of sunshine far away from the woes of real life and we’re here for it.

The organisers of Dream Machine have provided an opportunity for you to indulge in music and a coastal island getaway for five lavish days from 6 to 10 October. The festival has been named appropriately with an all-star cast of headliners including Fight Facilities and Hayden James who will have you dancing your heart out in the sand—a dream indeed. Australia’s resident house artists Cosmo’s Midnight, Touch Sensitive and crowd favourite The Jungle Giants will both be there in DJ mode along with many others will also be the soundtrack to your opulent days in paradise.

This deluxe itinerary will see you island hopping from one world renowned beach to the next—Daydream Island, Paradise Cove and a surprise tropical location will all be yours to explore. Why stay in one luxury haven when you can stay in three? Also, did we mention you can stay on a yacht? Well, there’s that too. Otherwise, accommodation at the luxury Daydream Island Resort is the other option which flexes outdoor swimming pools, a spa, four restaurants, three bars and ocean views at every turn. Yes, this is in fact real life. You can immerse yourself in the music while peppering in some kayaking, snorkelling, and jet-skiing between Dream Machine events.

If you want to know what it feels like to live it up in Mykonos like Lindsay Lohan, here’s your chance but in Queensland—same same. Get out your togs and be a part of the coveted dream created by Dream Machine. Packages start from $1899 per person with all ferry transfers included. Tickets go on sale on 7 April and you can get all the details here.
