This World-First Cliff Park Is Bringing Extreme Adventure to Binna Burra
Ever heard the saying, ‘if your friend jumped off a cliff, would you?’. Well, as of today, the answer might actually be yes.
Get ready to take your next weekend adventure to new heights with the opening of Happitat, the world’s first all-encompassing cliff park experience.
Located around an hour outside of the Gold Coast in Binna Burra, this nature-meets-adrenaline playground will officially open January 10, 2026.

Designed to push you, the adrenaline-inducing experience aims to connect you with nature and push you past fear into happiness. You’ll tackle zip lines, suspension bridges and via ferrata climbs, combined with serene rainforest walks and refreshing swimming holes.
Happitat's founder, Michael Neururer, ex-snowboarder and alpine adventurer, brings his experiences from Austria, Europe, America and Canada together to create this first-ever cliff park experience.
Neururer says adventure changed his life, and that Happitat is a place to stop, simplify, and appreciate your environment. It helps that Australia has one of the most beautiful expanses in the world, right?

If you’re still feeling a little sceptical, you can psych yourself up by reading through the entire itinerary beforehand. You’ll start with the Arete Via Ferrata Climb, taking a breathtaking ascent across an 80-metre bridge, tackling timber crossings and tightropes. Now that your heart rate is up, you’ll launch into Total Exposure, gliding 200 metres across the longest and highest zipline the park has to offer, with a stunning view of Lamington National Park.
Not done yet, the next stage is the Overhand Zipline Course, soaring past waterfalls and rugged cliff faces, before a chance to slow down with the final Edge Park Explorer. Take a breather, dip into crystal-clear natural pools and wander through bush trails, feeling a new sense of calm.
Happitat is backed by Minister for the Environment and Tourism, Andrew Powell.
“Queensland is the home of the holiday, and this world-first on the Gold Coast is another exceptional reason to visit.” Minister Powell said.
