International Women’s Day is on Tuesday 8 March, but that doesn’t mean you only have one day to celebrate. There are plenty of events happening on and around the Gold Coast this week which are all about celebrating the 2022 International Women’s Day theme of #BreakTheBias.

This year, it’s about creating a world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination; a world where difference is valued and celebrated and a world which is equitable and inclusive. From a luncheon celebrating women in tourism to a charity fundraiser, these International Women’s Day events on the Gold Coast embrace women in all their diversities, cultures and achievements. 

Destination Gold Coast International Women’s Day Luncheon

Celebrate the extraordinary contribution of women in tourism and other key Gold Coast industry sectors at the Destination Gold Coast International Women’s Day Luncheon. This luncheon will give you the rare opportunity to hear from some of Australia’s most inspiring tourism leaders and will be hosted by Destination Gold Coast CEO, Patricia O’Callaghan. Set to be a relaxed afternoon of networking, celebrating the Gold Coast and hearing insights from the city’s new tourism leaders, this is one event you don’t want to miss.

Women of Influence International Women’s Day Event

Join women of influence at this exciting breakfast event, where you will hear about how we can raise awareness against bias and take action for equality. Held at RACV Royal Pines Resort, this is set to be one truly inspiring event celebrating women’s achievements. Award-winning journalist, diversity advocate and mother, Antoinette Lattouf is the keynote speaker and will speak about how we can break bias in our homes, schools, workplaces, communities and beyond.

Bond University International Women’s Day Cocktail Reception

This International Women’s Day aligns with the launch of Bond University Women’s Network’s 2022 theme of ‘connect’ and they’re hosting an inspiring cocktail event to celebrate. Bond University Women’s Network Chair, Keitha Dunstan will be the key speaker and will share her personal and professional journey, as well as some of her strategies for success and cracking the glass ceiling. There will be an informal Q&A session after the presentation and plenty of beverages and canapes to go around.

International Women’s Day Charity Fundraiser

International Women’s Day 2022 theme #BreakTheBias is a call to create a world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. This year, join the fundraiser at Hyde Paradiso for a fabulous day in celebration of International Women’s Day and raising funds for local domestic violence refuge, The Sanctuary. The brilliant panel of speakers will discuss what #BreakTheBias means to them, as well as advocacy, inclusive mindsets and their personal experiences with bias. The team at Ioesco Cafe in Sanctuary Cove are cooking up a storm to celebrate female achievements this International Women’s Day.
