Beloved Broadbeach institution Mamasan has officially unveiled a jaw-dropping transformation, reopening after a major redesign to mark its 10th anniversary milestone.
If you thought you knew Mamasan, think again. This is much more than just a venue renovation; it’s a complete reimagining of the iconic venue, elevating every element of the experience while still staying true to the flavours, flair and moody elegance that made it a Gold Coast stalwart.

Okay, the fit-out. The refreshed design dramatically expands Mamasan’s footprint, now flowing all the way through to Elizabeth Street. Guests can choose from a host of new spaces designed for private events and intimate gatherings, from a 30-seat alfresco deck to a 10-person private dining room and a flexible dining space capable of hosting 30-40 guests exclusively.

Inside, the jewel in the crown is the new 10-person private dining room—a sultry, intimate space wrapped in Japanese charred timber, bathed in cinematic lighting, and anchored by a striking round table perfect for special celebrations.

Outside, the sun-drenched alfresco deck brings a relaxed vibe, with bifold windows that blur the lines between indoors and out, plus heating to keep things cosy year-round.
Quartzite stone threads through the venue, while meticulous craftsmanship from renowned design studio Space Cubed and builders Zero9 Constructions bring the ambitious redesign to life. The result? A space that feels both strikingly new and comfortably familiar—an elevated evolution rather than reinvention.

Mamasan co-founder Lauren Duitsch reflects on the milestone, "Reaching our 10-year anniversary gave us the opportunity to reimagine every detail of Mamasan. The new design allows for more experiences and memories to be made and a stronger connection between our spaces”.
Of course, Mamasan’s pan-Asian menu has evolved right alongside its interiors. Executive Chef Sebastain Tan has carefully balanced the restaurant’s most-loved classics with fresh creations that reflect his evolving culinary vision.

Yes, your favourites are still here—the spanner crab tortellini dumplings and Korean fried chicken ribs with gochujang remain non-negotiables—but they now sit alongside bold newcomers like Hong Kong ‘Typhoon Shelter’ lobster with chilli garlic crumb, yellowfin tuna tacos with ginger ponzu, and three-day dry-aged roast duck pancakes.
Of course, we’d be remiss not to pair these plates with the whole tiger prawns with shellfish kombu butter and the host and sour crispy eggplant with roasted sesame.

For co-founder JP Duitsch, the milestone is about both legacy and future: “The renovation creates new possibilities for the venue while preserving the sophisticated yet welcoming atmosphere that has made it a destination for our loyal regulars and new diners.”

Ten years in, Mamasan has cemented itself as a cornerstone of Gold Coast dining. This bold transformation ensures it will remain one of the city’s most in-demand restaurants for years to come.
Whether you’re booking the private room for something special, soaking up the alfresco vibes or returning for your go-to favourites, one thing’s clear—Mamasan is back, and better than ever.
Mamasan officially reopens on Thursday 18 September, 2025. Bookings available here.
