The Gold Coast’s hotel scene is levelling up with the debut of the TRYP by Wyndham brand launching on the Gold Coast on 4 December as part of the first stage of the $3.8 billion Imperial Square development in Southport.

TRYP by Wyndham Southport Gold Coast promises a blend of modern luxury and vibrant dining, starting with its crown jewel—Amore Ristorante. Opening its doors on 21 November, Amore brings vibrant Italian flavours to the heart of Southport.

Anchored by one of the Gold Coast’s largest authentic pizza ovens, imported directly from Italy, Amore’s menu is led by Executive Chef Robert McWhinnie, whose 20 years of culinary expertise bring depth and skill to every dish.

Start small with antipasti plates like Venetian scallops and crab mousse-stuffed zucchini blossoms before moving onto housemade pastas which take centre stage with highlights like Wagyu beef bolognese and pillowy pumpkin tortellini—both must-try dishes.

For heartier appetites, the whole Dorper lamb shoulder and barbecued Bay lobster are showstoppers. And don’t miss the grand finale—the Bombe Alaska, flambéed tableside for a dramatic end to your meal.

Pair your feast with a signature cocktail or explore Amore’s extensive wine list, showcasing premium varietals from some of Italy’s most celebrated vineyards.
