The Verdict

Located just across the road from Mr Hizola’s and Jimmy Wahs, BKA is in good company and it has the goods to back it up too. BKA which stands for ‘be kind, always’ is the true ethos behind both the team and the menu. All ingredients are sourced locally and sustainably so expect to see their menu change often. Their dishes range from share plates and nibbles to larger, more refined meals.

We recommend starting with the miso eggplant chips (we could eat them all day) and the salt pepper tofu with house slaw and almond butter sauce—hands down some of the best tofu we’ve ever had. 

The drinks list is also entirely vegan with local and international beers and wine on offer. The cocktail list is an impressive one with tipples like Vera Glás (gin, elderflower, cucumber, aloe vera, lemon and aquafaba) and Campino (Aperol, Licor 43, strawberry, orange and aquafaba).
