Landing in Broadbeach in early October, Ciccio’s Pizza and Gelato will be led by the skilled hands of Emanuele Malara, a Sicilian-born pizza and pastry chef.

Making use of Emanuele’s decades of culinary expertise both in Rome and at the Gold Coast’s Gemelli Group, Ciccio’s will offer a one-of-a-kind dining experience combining Italy’s iconic duo—pizza and gelato.

Coming out of the open kitchen here will be a host of appetisers, share plates and of course, pizzas that celebrate authentic Italian flavours and traditions. Start with a few small bites designed to pique your appetite, like crumbed cheese bites, olive ascolane, and potato croquettes with codfish. A must order from the share plates will be the calzone stuffed with fresh mussels cooked inside the folded dough to preserve all that flavour.

But that’s only just the beginning. Ciccio’s pizzas are an experience in themselves, featuring a highly fermented dough that changes colour seasonally. To top it off, there’ll be a whopping 30 different to choose from—good luck narrowing it down to one.

You can expect the classics that will undoubtedly transport you to the streets of Italy, as well as gourmet combinations you won’t find anywhere else. Like what, you ask? Truffle mushrooms and Spanish octopus, according to Emanuele himself.

And of course, at Ciccio’s dessert will be just as important as dinner (as it should be). Their gelato, handcrafted from the finest ingredients, will be available in 18 flavours. You’ll also be able to indulge in decadent gelato desserts like the indulgent Tartufo di Pizzo—a chocolate-hazelnut gelato sandwich with a molten chocolate centre—as well as the signature Sicilian brioche with gelato.

The doors officially open on 9 October. We'll have more details soon.
