Frida’s Field is the Northern Rivers’ ultimate celebration of wide open spaces. Perched atop an emerald glade, this husband-wife run farm-to-table restaurant and event space offers refined local eats and rustic country charm in equal measure.
Framed by dreamy towering trees and overlooking vast rolling meadows, Frida’s Field is the perfect locale for long boozy lunches or afternoon snacks under the shade of abundant greenery. Dine indoors, in their industrial chic barn, with high ceilings, housemade preserves and a front row seat to the open kitchen. Or pull up a picnic rug and dine alfresco overlooking the picturesque field. Bliss.
A newer locale on the scene, Frida’s Field has already made waves among wine aficionados, high-profile foodies and guests alike. With dishes crafted by award-winning chef Alastair Waddell, meals hero the region’s bountiful produce. Producers include the ecological onsite quarter-acre organic market garden, growing many of the dishes’ ingredients, like hand-plucked eggplant and squash, grilled and marinated then drizzled with garlic oil, as part of their Summer Sundowners seasonal event.
Throughout the warmer months, Frida’s Field’s Summer Sundowners is the balmy afternoon oasis of your summer lovin’ dreams. From 4pm every Saturday in summer, enjoy a refined selection of share plates paired perfectly with a cocktail or your selection from the extensive wine list.
Gaze at the sunset while nibbling on gooey brie-style soft cow milk cheese. Taste your way around the indulgent ploughman’s plate featuring smoked Bangalow pork terrine with Offir Glen cheese and farm preserves.
Sip through signature tipple like the slow-groni with Brookie’s slow gin, Winding Road Distillery Citrus and Sea Gin and Red Okar Amaro over ice. For an alc-free alternative, we recommend the zesty Garden Fairy, with Lyre’s dry London, lemon myrtle and refreshing cucumber with a twist of citrus.
Set on a 120-acre regenerative farm, the team are incredibly passionate about actively reducing and reversing climate change through their operations. Through a partnership with Land Care, rainforest flora and fauna plantings aim to create an onsite ecosystem.
Likewise, the team rotate their herd of Angus-Wagyu cattle through different paddocks every couple of days to reduce the chance of grasses being eaten to the soil, intentionally improving pastures.
Frida’s Field embodies a familiar and humble feel reminiscent of visiting an old friend—though with the kind of refinement you’d find at a top-shelf establishment. Welcome home.
