The Verdict

With no end in sight to the Coast’s new-found love for poke bowls, it makes total sense that sunny beach hangs, Kirra, were to gain its own dedicated poke bowl cafe. Inspired by the lush island archipelago of Hawaii, Kirra’s HiPoke brings a burst of summer to any day, and is all just a sandy-footed stroll from the seaside.

Take your pick from the signature menu or build-your-own bowl starting with a base of black rice, coconut rice, quinoa or zucchini noodles (we’d totally go the coconut rice!); loaded with goodness like edamame, mango, lotus root chips and sweet corn; then topped with proteins including sashimi grade tuna and salmon, prawns, karaage chicken or, for the vegos, marinated tofu. Sounds like heaven, right? Just want an old faithful acai bowl, green smoothie or kombucha for your weekend beach sesh? They’ve got you covered, too. Aloha!
