Say hello to Australia’s first plastic and waste free kitchen, Mother Nirvana.
This unique venue is currently operating as a pop-up out of Mermaid Beach bakery Marie Anita’s by night. The plant-based eatery is producing gluten-free, organic eats like pizzas, salads and smoothies, with more items to be added to the menu in the coming weeks.
Dishes are named after popular movies, like the Cinderella pizza topped with pumpkin and beetroot or the Willy Wonka dessert pizza with blueberries, raspberries, dates and banana covered in chocolate sauce. There’s also the Crocodile Dundee Sanga with avocado butter, pine nuts and sweet potato.
Even better? All the ingredients are from certified organic farms that are all under an hour's drive away. Plus, all of Mother Nirvana’s delicious eats contain no added oil, no added sugar, no G.M.Os and no preservatives.
But the best part is the fact that they’re boasting a plastic-free and zero-waste kitchen, which is an impressive feat. That means no plastic-packaged products are used, everything is made from scratch in-house, and the food scraps are collected and used in the garden.
