THE VERDICT

Burleigh eatery Osteria Del Mare, which is set to open in late June, will offer up fresh pasta daily plus moreish pizza, 100% homemade, naturally risen for 48 hours and cooked straight from the stone. While most of the ingredients will be imported direct from Italy, Chef and Owner Andrea Riva will also source meat and fish locally. With the ethos that everything will be made from scratch, Andrea, who has 20 years’ experience behind him, is hoping his signature charcoal seafood lasagna is a winner with diners. Yeah, we have a good feeling about that one, our mouths are watering just thinking about it. 

Even better news? They’ll be doing brunch people! Italian food + our fave meal of the day, we’re in foodie heaven right now. During the cooler months, Osteria Del Mare will be closed on Mondays, but will be open seven days during summer. The fit out, while still being completed, is embracing its beachy location with a white, blue and wood colour scheme. The vibe is a casual seaside eatery that is the perfect spot to fill your belly on a lazy Sunday. Or let’s be honest here, any day of the week.
