The Verdict
Northern Gold Coast has a hidden gem on their hands with this adorable eatery. The second offering from duo Zoe Scorgie and Glen Hordern (their OG Paper Cup opened in Labrador in 2015) is a breath of fresh air in the busy business precinct of Southport. With crisp white walls, lush greenery and wood it’s a calm and relaxing nook to grab a cup of their seriously good coffee and chow down on their healthy noms.
The ethos here is fast, healthy food at an affordable price point and they deliver in all three areas. Expect lots of vegan, gluten and dairy free options. Their brekky and lunch menus are available all day and include noms like smashed avo, burritos, eggs benny on Turkish bread, bagels and salads.
And if you’re a fan of a good acai bowl then you’ll want to wrap your choppers around the ones here. We recommend the Nutty Professor with peanut butter, granola and cacao nibs and the Pretty In Pink with a pitaya and strawberry base, coconut and cotton candy.
To finish, be sure to grab a sweet treat. There’s Golden Gaytime cronuts and loads of raw, vegan slices that taste so good you won’t believe they’re not actually naughty—you can’t go wrong with the Cherry Ripe or Snickers slice. Then wash it all down with a cold pressed juice or smoothie. And even better? You can download their app and pre order a takeaway. Winning!
