A new sports, entertainment and lifestyle hub has opened in Surfers Paradise, with the highly anticipated launch of Australia's largest Sporting Globe sports bar and brewpub.
Located on the former site of the iconic Hard Rock Cafe, the Glitter Strip’s favourite street corner has been transformed into a $6.5 million hi-tech sports bar and microbrewery. It’s the second collaboration between hospitality and sports entertainment brand, The Sporting Globe and award-winning brewing company, 4 Pines.
The proposition is simple; a place ‘Where Beer Meets Sport’, but we can assure you the massive 1000-person venue is anything but simple.
Commandeering the street corner in a prime position, inside you’ll find a central bar with stadium-style screens and wraparound digital screens for all of the sports action up close and personal. Over 60 high-definition screens—including multiple 5㎡ big screens—will give patrons access to live sport across the globe, plus premium booth seating with the capacity for individual channel selection and playing games.
There’s also a huge open-air balcony overlooking the street and a dedicated private function room for 150 guests, where you can watch any sports action in private. The relaxed, family-friendly venue will transform into a late-night hotspot with regular live music and entertainment in the evenings, trading until 3am on weekends.
And of course, the brews. 80 taps will be pouring premium beers, 14 of which 4 Pines lovingly brews onsite in the fully operational, ground-floor microbrewery. The menu is your classic Australian pub menu but with elevated touches—expect all the burgers, wings, parmis, burrito bowls and pub snacks that you know and love.
The team behind The Sporting Globe x 4 Pines Surfers Paradise, brothers Mark and Brad Vigus have grown up on the Gold Coast with sport in their blood.
“We saw a gap in the Gold Coast market for an inclusive, family-friendly sporting venue that would appeal to a broad demographic of customers and become the go-to meeting place to watch, listen, eat, drink and be entertained,” Mark said.
“Australia’s love of sport runs deep, and we know the folks of Surfers Paradise will find a loud and like-minded heartbeat right here at The Sporting Globe,” Brad said.
The Sporting Globe x 4 Pines Surfers Paradise will officially open on Friday 14 June 2024 with doors open from 10am.
