Zio Italian Enoteca

Sanctuary Cove really is a gem on the Gold Coast’s northside, and no one knows that more than respected hospo operators Max and Amanda Alfieri. As the former owners of popular Italian restaurant Ioesco, the duo are returning to the waterfront hub to open an intimate new wine bar called Zio Italian Enoteca.

“Sanctuary Cove has always been home to us,” said Max Alfieri. “Zio Italian Enoteca gives us the opportunity to share the flavours, traditions and discoveries we have experienced across Italy. From regional wines to time-honoured food traditions, we hope to bring a little piece of Italy to the Cove.”

At Zio Italian Enoteca, you can expect a carefully curated selection of local and international wines, alongside traditional Italian antipasto-style offerings to nibble on like freshly sliced cured meats, artisan cheeses, crusty breads, and seasonal accompaniments. This is just the beginning, as the menu will expand to feature authentic Italian specialty dishes once Zio has settled into the Village. 

“We are excited to invite our guests into a space that reflects our love of Italy, its people, wines and traditions,” Alfieri said. “Zio Italian Enoteca is about sharing experiences, creating connections and offering a warm welcome to everyone who walks through our doors.”

Zio Italian Enoteca is expected to open late July.
