The Verdict

If you like your Melbourne cuisine with a side of social conscience then you can’t go past Chameleon Junction.

From hospitality gurus Harriet Pellizzer and Executive Chef ‘Tinka’ Lander, this café-restaurant-hybrid morphs as the day goes on, from sunny brunch bar to sultry nightspot, changing menus for brekky, lunch and dinner (hence the chameleon bit—geddit?). The perfect Moorabbin destination for a post-workout breakfast, business lunch meeting or awkward first date bevvy.

“The response we have had so far from the local community has been really amazing. Locals and commuters have said how refreshing it is to have another place to go, especially one that is open at night and doesn’t close during the afternoon,” says Harriet.

At the backbone of Chameleon Junction is their dedication to reducing waste and delivering quality food. Biodegradable materials are used everywhere to reduce the ecological footprint as much as possible. Even the crayons for the kids are non-toxic.

Bonus—this isn't just good for Captain Planet, it's good for you too! The menu features A-Grade, free-range meat, ethical poultry and googies from the Bass Coast Eggs in South Gippsland…so you don’t have to feel bad about devouring their heavenly cheeseburger, doused in delicious ‘secret burger sauce’.

Whether you have an intolerance, allergy or you're looking for something cruelty-free, Chameleon Junction has you covered with loads of vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free options. A fan favourite is the Vegan Sesame Soba Noodle Salad with crispy fried enoki mushrooms and marinated tofu (soft as a bloody pillow). Cue the drools.

Moorabin you’re in for an absolute treat.
