The Docklands just got a little more interesting with the opening of SPQR wood-fired pizzeria at The District. If the name rings a bell, it's probably because this is the team's second eatery after the launch of their CBD location back in late 2017.
Complete with their own purpose-built “dough-lab”, customers can watch dedicated bakers handcraft hundreds of balls of sourdough using Caputo flour straight from Italy.
With a compact offering, SPQR’s menu is inclusive of some of the classics like Margherita and Pepperoni, but step it up with a range of non-tomato based pizzas as well. Jim’s Pie particularly piques our interest – consisting of ‘nduja (Italian spicy pork salumi), portobello mushrooms and two types of cheese.
There are gluten-free options available, as well as vegan cheese, catering to a range of dietary needs. While canned espresso martini and negroni cocktails, alongside a selected variety of beer, wine and cider have you covered for all of your beverage needs.
With a carefully curated playlist and a gallery of artwork form numerous celebrated street artists, SPQR is sure to be the best thing to hit the Docklands since Costco or that broken Ferris wheel.
