The Verdict

Following the success of the first Wings of Glory in South Melbourne, owners and creators Jen and Steven Lo are psyched to open their second installment, which is setting up shop in the heart of the CBD.

Wings Of Glory made its name on boneless chicken wings and chicken wraps, with an Aussie twist. And above all their mystical ability to fry chicken to absolute crispy perfection. Not to mention, all of their produce comes locally sourced, and everything is made fresh on location.

Their menu is like a game of snakes and ladders – simple to follow and decked out with a few little surprises here and there to get you excited and keep you on your toes. All you need to do is follow the steps to make it to the end (preferably with a bucket of wings in one hand and a beer in the other). First, pick your combo, then your wings, then your flavour. Are you born to be mild? More into the bees knees honey? Or maybe the happy medium is more your style. Finally, you get to choose your choice of dips—ranch, blue cheese or honey mustard.

In terms of sides, they’ve got all the good stuff, including hand-cut chips, fried pickles, vegie sticks and more. Wanna go all out? Order their glory-ous beer bucket, which comes loaded with five ice-cold beers to wash down your golden chicken. And yep as you expected, they’ve also got vegetarians and gluten intolerans catered for.

Think you can handle the heat? Take the Fury Challenge, where you’ll try your hand at devouring 12 super-hot chicken wings in four minutes to claim the title. This chilli level is four times hotter than the standard basting and features the deadly ghost chilli pepper.

If you’ve got a wing craving on Wednesday after 5pm, it’s your lucky day, because wings will be just $1 every week. We'll see you there, bucket in hand.
