Kingston Calling Is The New Festival Bringing Six60, Fat Freddy’s Drop, And Maoli To Mount Maunganui

Clear your February calendar—a massive new two-day celebration of Aotearoa and Pacific music is taking over Mount Maunganui in 2027.

Kingston Calling will make its debut at Bay Oval on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 February, bringing together 14 local and international acts led by Six60, Fat Freddy's Drop, Maoli and Stan Walker.

Presented by Fabrik and Mai FM, the destination festival will pair world-class production with a lineup spanning reggae, roots, soul, hip-hop and homegrown anthems. SOJA, Arrested Development, Rebel Souljahz, Katchafire and Aaradhna are among the other names answering the call.

Who Is Playing Kingston Calling 2027?

Maoli and Stan Walker will lead the festival’s opening day on Friday 19 February, joined by Grammy Award-winning hip-hop group Arrested Development, American reggae outfit SOJA, Katchafire, Hori Shaw and A.R.T.

Six60 will headline on Saturday 20 February alongside Fat Freddy’s Drop, Rebel Souljahz, Te Wehi, Aaradhna, Marley NZ All Stars and Myshaan.

The festival marks Six60’s long-awaited return to the Mount, with frontman Matiu Walters saying the setting in the beachside town will make the performance particularly memorable.

Kingston Calling takes its name from the tradition of communities gathering in response to a call. Festival director and Fabrik founder Toby Burrows says that spirit will carry through the entire event, uniting artists and fans from across Aotearoa and the Pacific.

The festival will also introduce Ask for Angela/Andrew and a dedicated Safe Space Policy, designed to create a safe and welcoming environment across both days.
