Summer is just around the corner which means long days getting loose and mingling with mates is almost upon us. We predict cooling off with a perfectly chilled cocktail as the go-to move this social season.
To elevate your next summer soiree, we challenged master mixologist JC—the Creative Director at Bedford Soda & Liquor—to create the ultimate sharing cocktail for your next group hang in partnership with Schweppes. Welcome the Sauvi Spritz: a crisp and herbaceous bevvie that left us refreshed days after we first gave it a sip. JC was inspired by those early mornings when the grass is still dewy and the fresh air fills and rejuvenates your body—a tidbit to tell your mates when you’re sitting in that iconic Ponsonby Central alley, sun blazing, cheersing on a Friday arvo with a Sauvi Spritz in hand.
What makes this cocktail sing is the refreshing combination of innovative ingredients and tried and tested drink staples. The Sauvignon Blanc gin boasts botanicals with the added zest and fruitiness of the grapes while the house-made olea saccharum cordial brings tang, sweetness and a curious depth. It’s then topped off with Schweppes Indian Tonic Water for a punchy fizzy finish. Keen for a taste? All the juicy info on how to stir it up is in JC’s recipe below.
