Uncle Tetsu’s New Cheesecake
It’s hard to believe that a year has already flown by since the fluffy Japanese cheesecake made waves in Auckland. To celebrate their one year anniversary, Uncle Tetsu has released their new premium cheesecake where they take the words fluffy and jiggly to a whole new level. The Angel Cheesecake will feature custard cream cheese and it will be available from the 1st of October from their Queen Street store. Click here for more information
Paua At Euro
Next month the star ingredient at Princess Wharf restaurant Euro is paua. Showcasing the shellfish in an umami extravaganza that includes: paua sesame toast with smoked mussels and miso butter; wild caught paua served with market fish and shiitake mushrooms; and creamed paua paired with Taupo beef and potato terrine. Paua carbonara, paua agnolotti with bonito broth, and creamed paua soup served with a 63° egg are also on the menu. The three-course, prix-fixe menu starts at $29.95 and is available from 12-4pm, seven days a week, until the end of October.
Pop-up Crêpes at Le Petit Chef
If you're in the CBD, stop off at Le Petit Chef for crêpes. Perfect for lunch or dinner, the pop-up caters for both sweet and savoury tastes. Sweet offerings include Nutella, blackberry and sugar, while savoury includes mushroom and cheese, salmon and goats cheese and ham and cheese. Make a choice and see them made right before your eyes. They're available every day throughout October from 12pm - 9pm.
UMU Pizza Now Takes Bookings
After months of begging, our friends at UMU Pizza in Kingsland have FINALLY listened. They are now open for bookings for groups of six and more and we could not be more excited. Round up a squad and hit up UMU and indulge in their killer flavours. Click here to make your reservation.
Barker's Of Geraldine Fruit For Cheese
Barker's of Geraldine is helping us take our cheese platters to a brand new level with their new product line of fruit pastes. These have been specially crafted to make the ultimate pairing with the oh-so-beloved dairy cheese and goes down a treat with some crackers. The flavours available are blackberry and brandy, feijoa and pear, pomegranate and pear and quince. Head to your local supermarket to sweeten up your cheesy experience.
Otahuhu Food Festival
Free up this Saturday for the Otahuhu Food Festival. From 10am – 4pm as it’s going to be an absolute banger. Located on the main street of Otahuhu, there’ll be a ton of food trucks and stalls where you’ll be spoilt for choice. From Japanese gyoza, classic candyfloss, cookie dough sandwiches and cheesy loaded fries, this event is a foodie lover’s dream.
Bondie Designer Cupcakes Date Night
It’s the last week of the month and that means Bondie’s date night! Bondie Designer Cupcakes will be opening their Rosedale store until 8pm on Thursday night with the British food truck, Grub! This food truck serves us Yorkshire wraps loaded with English soul food like tender pork shoulder or creamy, cheesy mash. Afterwards, feel free to treat yourself to some of Bondie’s premium cupcakes!
New Products At Sabato
Our favourite fine food store Sabato is kicking off spring in proper fashion: new food! They are introducing an apple condiment from Pons to take your roasted and grilled meats and veggies to a whole new level of crisp apple, tangy deliciousness. You can even serve it on top of some ice cream to make that scoop even sweeter and more indulgent. Pons Apple Condiment can be found in the Sabato retail store located in Mount Eden.
