At long last, women’s sport is taking centre stage and we are here. for. it. This year, all eyes are on our Black Ferns and their highly-anticipated 2024 test calendar.
These high-energy matches promise more than just captivating rugby—they’re guaranteed to be a vibrant mix of good vibes, fun off-field entertainment, and piping-hot stadium eats (those sugar-dusted doughnuts, though). And let’s not forget the main event: 80 minutes of nail-biting rugby that showcases the skill and dedication of our wāhine toa as they take to the field.
Luckily, the test calendar will spread its love across the country this year—with matches in Auckland, Christchurch, and Hamilton. Better yet, the whole whānau can get involved with daytime kick-offs and wallet-friendly ticket pricing. Adults tickets are from $15 and kids go free (in the family zone with two paying adults), how good.
The action kicks off with the 2024 Pacific Four Series, as the Black Ferns go head-to-head with the USA at Hamilton’s FMG Stadium Waikato on Saturday, May 11. The series continues in Christchurch when the girls in black take on Canada at Apollo Projects Stadium on Sunday, May 19.
We're then onto some classic trans-Tasman rivalry as the Black Ferns challenge Australia at the first O’Reilly Cup Test, presented by Ryman Healthcare. Aucklanders can check this one out at North Harbour Stadium on Saturday, May 25.
