Three people have fun while planting trees.

Mother Nature has not quite blessed us with the peaceful sunny summer we might have envisioned this year, but don't fret because it's almost time for this year's Eco festival to turn her frown upside-down and show Tāmaki Makaurau some much-needed eco-love.

And proving they know what’s what when it comes to all things good, EcoFest is going regional this year, so all of Tāmaki Makaurau can join in for a month-long party of all things seriously eco. Across the four eco hubs out West, North and the new eco hubs based in South Auckland and Waiheke Island—there’s a huge line-up of events that show all the love for the environment. EcoFest is an exciting time for you plant-loving Jaffas out there to learn some more sustainable tips and tricks, connect with your community and have fun.

The wealth of activities you can get amongst has been separated into categories—Waka Hourua/Clean Transport, Kīnaki Kai Reka/Foodies’ Fix, Te Whaihanga/Makers’ Mayhem, Torohē Nuku/Explore Nature and Mauri Noho/Conscious Living. Covering a wide range of topics and subject matters, most events are free or low-cost and whānau friendly. Kicking things off on March 18 you can take part in everything from an Autumnal gardening workshop, or get your hands dirty making DIY Drought-Tolerant Garden Beds, find your love for bees at this Bee Experience, pick up something from Hunua Market or even become one with nature doing some beginner-friendly EcoYoga on Waiheke island.

What's more, throughout the month you'll not only be able to get involved in awesome events from composting workshops to silent disco clean-ups, but you'll be learning from the best eco experts out there. Why not get involved and improve your sustainable habits for a happy healthy Tāmaki Makaurau?

You’ll be left green with envy if you miss out on this totally awesome festival that only does good so fill up your diary with their dizzying array of events and consider the next month sorted.
