Things To Do

Gear Up For Eats, Beats And Fashion At This Carnival-Themed Event Going Down This Month

By

There are few things we love more than a healthy dose of retail therapy, but when a day of shopping is paired with live tunes, epic eats and entertainment, well, that’s a recipe for the ultimate day out.

Lucky for us, Sylvia Park is hosting Play in the Park, a carnival of weekend festivities kicking off Saturday, 6 February until Sunday,14 March.

With high-vaulted ceilings, an open-air glass canopy and lush greenery hanging overhead, the newly renovated and sun-drenched centre is a welcoming oasis to sit, chill and enjoy some scrumptious eats post-shopping session.

We’re talking tasty bites from newly added IPPUDO, Malaysian street-style from Hawker & Roll, Mediterranean eats from Casablanca, gastro pub grub from Garrison Public House, juicy burgs from Better Burger, slow-cooked BBQ at Cleaver Co and mouth-watering dishes from Mexico. The Little District will tempt you with their wood-fired oven delights and craft beers and The Coffee Club is ready for your caffeine fix.

There will also be sweet sounds from DJ Ray, DJ Paris and DJ Bernz so you can kick back, sink into your bean bag and bliss out from noon until dusk.

Keep the good vibes flowing and challenge your mates to a cheeky game of corn hole throwing, tumble towers, mega Connect 4, or a monster Quiots set. Nothing like some light-hearted competition among friends, right?

As for your shopping tour, make your first stop at Zara (since the only store in Auckland can be found at Sylvia Park) before making a beeline to Glassons, General Pants Co. and H&M.

So what're you waiting for? Grab some friends and gear up for a day packed with eats, beats, games and a whole lot of fashion at Sylvia Park’s carnival event. Head over here for all the details.
