The Verdict
Stylish new spot Atelier Shu on Kent Street (formally on Faraday in Parnell) could easily be mistaken for an art gallery, what with its minimalist fit-out, however, it's actually a patisserie. Taking traditional European-style pastries and blending them with Asian flavours, the result is unique and tasty treats (think madeleines, tarts and one of our all-time faves, canelés) that look like, well, works of art.
