The Verdict
The duo behind some of Auckland’s (if not Aotearoa’s) best smash burgers are getting ready to open the doors of their new permanent space at 1879 Great North Road, Avondale.
After years of smashing and serving up their beloved burgers at pop-ups around the city, the team is almost ready to unveil their permanent 15-seater pattie place after months of self-renovation and hard graft.
On the menu? You'll be pleased to see the queue-inducing Oklahoma Dreaming burger leading the charge. Crispy around the edges and somehow still juicy, this burger boasts two smashed onion patties, lashings of mustard mayo and hot sauce, a drizzle of maple syrup, slices of American cheese and if that wasn’t already enough, bread and butter pickles. Phew.
Expect queues out the door this coming Sunday, October 8, so don’t try and play it cool, make haste instead. After all, the early bird catches the burger.
