The Verdict
Cats and coffee? Why not! Auckland's BaristaCats is situated in the heart of the CBD and visitors can pay to pop in for an hour and pet cats to their hearts content while sipping on a complimentary coffee provided by Auckland roasters Be.Specialty and a bite to eat if you’re keen.
All of the cats come from rescue centres and includes two gorgeous wee kittens and one big, white, lazy feline. While the café closes at 6pm, it doesn’t go to sleep—this is the cats home, after all. Don’t worry, they’re all set up with beds, climbing frames, private spaces and litter boxes. Keep an eye out for monthly movie nights, Monday cat yoga and other feline-featured events they have coming up!
