When the greasy $4 takeaway pizza isn’t cutting it, go eat yourself silly at one of the best pizza joints in Auckland, Dante’s Pizzeria. The flagship Ponsonby Central store is known for its authentic, Neapolitan style pizza—something any true pizza enthusiast will appreciate.
Margherita fans, prepare to have the best you’ve ever had. Kevin Morris, Dante’s Essex-born owner, learnt the secrets of the pizza making trade from his Italian grandfather, and his pizza bases take a lengthy FOUR days to make (breaking down gluten ain't easy). He hand-crushes IItalian tomatoes like a boss, and dots the base with fresh buffalo mozzarella and basil. The result? It’s worth heading to Dante’s to find out for yourself.
Dante’s was also is first pizzeria in Auckland to get its hands on an Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana certificate—cementing Kevin with some of the best traditional pizza makers in the world. Impressive stuff!
